Hyaluronic acid is the major component of the extracellular matrix. It is found in large quantities in the skin, where it is mainly produced by fibroblasts (dermis) and keratinocytes (epidermis). A unique feature of it is its enormous ability to bind water molecules and retain it in the skin, ensuring immediate and lasting hydration. In addition to this property, hyaluronic acid seems to play a central role in tissue regeneration, maintaining the integrity of the extracellular matrix, ensuring their normal functioning, also being involved in their healing.
The peony, nicknamed the “flower with a thousand petals”, embodies love, romance and feminine beauty. With such a pleasant fragrance, this generous, delicate and sensual flower is considered by the Chinese as the queen of flowers. It has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for over two thousand years to heal skin rashes, aid healing and soothe irritations. Due to its antioxidant properties, peony extract reduces the effects of free radicals, caused by pollution and smoking. Due to the content of active molecules (terpenoids, especially paeoniflorin and polyphenols), it acts to even out skin color by correcting excessive redness and reducing age spots.
Vegetable oils (Bio olive oil, Bio argan oil, grape seed oil) and cocoa butter regenerate the skin thanks to the fatty acids they contain, fight cell aging through the vitamin A and E content, and restore the skin’s softness.
